The festival surges to life Saturday, 29th August 1992. Simply called “Arènes d’Avenches", the event invests the Roman amphitheatre from 14:00 to 01:00 with a program 100% Swiss. Led by a team of friends close to the organization Terre des Hommes, the Avenchoise festival emerges under a humanitarian profile. The comedy group Bretelle 007 from the Valais sets the opening ablaze under rainy skies and stands sparse of spectators. Result of this marathon of solidarity: 730 paid entries and zero profit. A token amount will still be donated to Terre des Hommes and la Maison d’Enfants, Avenches. The first brick is well posed.
